The Turks and Caicos Islands Supreme Court on Monday made history when for the first time it began televised proceedings live via the internet. A murder trial, the Crown vs Jumillo Isma, was streamed live to the world from the Grand Turk Supreme Court. According to Magnetic Media, Jury trials have resumed after being stopped by the coronavirus pandemic and with that, video links are now feeding the trials to the world wide web so anyone can watch. Carlos Simons Reappointed as Turks and Caicos Supreme Court Judge
Queen’s Counsel, Carlos Simons has once again been appointed a judge to the Supreme Court of the Turks and Caicos Islands. His appointment took effect from April 1, 2021. Same as his first appointment in February last year, this will be a temporary assignment and he will serve on the bench for one year. His appointment in 2020, made him the first indigenous Turks and Caicos Islander to become a judge in the Islands.
