Neale Coleman

 

Neale Coleman is an experienced commercial litigator and real estate attorney who practices in the area of real estate, tourism and resorts working on commercial developments and residential property transactions of a diverse nature.   He qualified as a Solicitor in England and Wales in 1996 and was called to the Bar of the Turks and Caicos Islands in 2007. Neale has practiced as an attorney in the Turks and Caicos Islands since 2007. Prior to his arrival in the Turks and Caicos Islands Neale practiced as a commercial litigator in London working for a large international law firm.

Neale is a member of the Law Society of England and Wales, Turks and Caicos Bar Association, and a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners. Neale undertakes a broad range of commercial and civil litigation appearing as counsel in the Magistrates Court, the Supreme Court, the Court of Appeal and the Labour Tribunal.

Arnelle Taylor

 

Arnelle Taylor was called to the Bar of England and Wales in 2018 by the Honourable Society of the Middle Temple and was admitted as an attorney in the Turks and Caicos Islands in 2019. Arnelle read Law at the University of Sussex where she obtained her LLB Bachelor of Law (Honours) and later obtained her Master of Laws with Distinction from BPP University with a focus on anti-money laundering and terrorist financing.

Arnelle’s previous representative work included acting as retained counsel for commercial banks leading foreclosure and recovery proceedings, working with clients on residential subdivision developments and a range of property transactions. Probate and estate administration form a small part of her practice, which includes drafting wills and applying for probate and letters of administration.

David Phillips QC

Of Counsel

Turks and Caicos Attorney David PhillipsDavid Phillips QC is a senior silk with an established reputation as a strategist and advocate in the field of commercial litigation and dispute resolution. He is also highly regarded in the fields of sport, professional negligence, and EU transport regulation.

David has conducted substantial pieces of litigation on behalf of the Government of the Turks and Caicos Islands (both on the Islands and in the Privy Council) in constitutional, commercial and judicial review cases, as well as litigation concerning the Islands’ recent Commission of Inquiry. David has also appeared in and advised on major matters for institutional clients in other Caribbean territories including Trinidad & Tobago, Anguilla, BVI and the Bahamas.

David was the leading counsel directing the Turks and Caicos civil recovery programme. This is a high-profile programme employing some of the world’s leading asset recovery lawyers, which is the result of an inquiry by Sir Robin Auld that highlighted widespread corruption in the Islands. Substantial sums by way of money judgments and approaching 2,500 acres of Crown land have been recovered.

David has sat both as a Recorder of the Crown Court and as a Deputy High Court Judge for more than 20 years and regularly appears both as an advocate and legal chairman in domestic and international arbitrations. He is a legal member of the Football Association specialist panel, and of the FA Premier League panel. David is a Sport Resolutions appointed arbitrator, and a former tribunal chairman of the National Anti-Doping Panel.

He is rated as a leaders in his fields in both The Legal 500 and Chambers Directory, where not only has he been described as being “disarmingly talented” but, has also won approval as “a barrister who does not make a song and dance about things but who just gets them done”. More recently Chambers Directory commented that “his advocacy contains razor-sharp insight camouflaged by gossamer-soft presentation.”

Craig Oliver

Senior Associate

Craig was admitted as a solicitor in England and Wales in 1993 starting his career as a solicitor in in the South West of England. He subsequently worked in London’s West End and the City for prominent commercial law practices. Craig is delighted to have now found his true home in the Turks and Caicos Islands and was called to the Bar of the Turks and Caicos Islands in 2016.

In 2020 Craig joined Wessex Fairchild as a Senior Associate with a wealth of experience in civil, company and commercial matters including advising on company and business sales, purchases, and set-ups, partnerships, joint ventures and corporate restructuring.

Additionally, Craig has many years’ experience in criminal and commercial litigation representing both companies and individuals.

Craig has a master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) from Exeter University and his all rounded business experience means that he truly sees legal issues from the eyes of business leaders and company owners.

Ellura Cunningham

Legal Assistant

Ellura is a dedicated professional currently completing an Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice at the Turks and Caicos Community College. With a rich background that spans in healthcare and legal studies she brings a diverse and valuable skill set.

Ellura began her educational journey abroad at The Manchester City College in the United Kingdom where she completed her A-Levels. This foundation was further strengthened when she returned to Turks and Caicos where she worked in the healthcare sector as a Patient Service Assistant which enhanced her critical skills in service management.

In pursuit of continuous improvement, Ellura earned several professional certifications and diplomas. These include a Diploma of Completion in Labour Laws and Statutory Compliance for HRs, Certification in Effective Legal Office Administration, and a Diploma in Paralegal Studies. Each of these achievements underscores her dedication to mastering complex legal concepts and procedures.

Aspiring to become a lawyer , Ellura is passionate about continuing her education in law in the near future.
